As part of the first Blazer generation introduced in 2019, the 2021 Chevy Blazer is a midsize SUV with distinctive styling and agile handling. Available in six trims (L, 1LT, 2LT, 3LT, RS, and Premier), the two-row Blazer seats five people comfortably and offers numerous amenities. Use this guide to learn what’s new with the 2021 models.

Stunning Exterior Colors

Relatively unchanged externally for the 2021 model year, the Chevy Blazer does have exterior color changes compared to the previous year’s model. The colors no longer offered include the following:
  • Cajun Red Tintcoat
  • Graphite Metallic
  • Nightfall Gray Metallic
Instead, Chevy added four new colors to the mix, including the following:
  • Cayenne Orange
  • Cherry Red Tintcoat
  • Iron Gray
  • Pewter Metallic

Solid Engine Options

There are three engine options with the 2021 Blazer, all of which provide you with plenty of power. The base 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine produces 193 horsepower and 188 pound-feet of torque, while the 2LT and 3LT trims add a 2.0-liter, 230-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 258 pound-feet of torque. The RS and Premier trims come with a 3.6-liter 308-horsepower V-6 engine that produces 270 pound-feet of torque. All three engines come paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. Four-wheel drive also comes standard, but you can opt for all-wheel drive on all trims except for the L and 1LT. The 2021 models that have all-wheel drive and the largest engine gain a new towing package option, which includes a heavy-duty cooling system with hitch guidance. With this engine and package, the Blazer can tow up to 4,500 pounds.

Premium Interior Amenities

The Blazer’s interior gains its inspiration from the Camero, with an intuitive climate-control system along with a two-tone color scheme. Cloth seating comes standard, although upper trims gain perforated leather. Upgrades available include heated and ventilated seats. When it comes to infotainment, the SUV comes standard with an 8-inch touch-screen display, a six-speaker audio system, four USB ports, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. The 1LT trim adds satellite radio, while the RS and Premier include the upgraded Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Plus system with an 8-inch HD color touch screen with navigation. The top-of-the-line Premier trim has an upgraded eight-speaker audio system. There are packages available, however, including the Sound and Technology package for the 3LT. This package includes the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Plus system and an upgraded eight-speaker audio system. Adding the Driver Confidence II package to the RS and Premier trims gives you wireless charging.

Outstanding Safety Features

To keep you and your passengers safe, the 2021 Blazer comes with numerous safety features. The 2LT, 3LT, RS, and Premier trims come standard with the Chevy Safety Assist package, which includes automatic emergency braking, forward-collision alert, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, and front pedestrian braking. The 2021 Blazer hits the ground running with its stellar safety features, impressive engine options, and premium interior.
