As the second-best large SUV according to U.S. News and World Report, the 2021 Chevy Tahoe is a three-row SUV built on the same platform as the Chevy Silverado 1500 and Suburban. This allows the SUV to tow like a full-size pickup truck yet has enough interior space for the entire family to ride along. The Tahoe underwent a complete redesign from the 2020 model, making it larger, longer, and more spacious. Despite its impressive size, the SUV is easy to maneuver.

Additional Space

The 2021 Tahoe comes in five available trims: LS, LT, Z71, Premier, and High Country. Due to its complete redesign, the new model has new headlights, grille, and redesigned interior. It is also almost 7 inches longer and has a 5 inches longer wheelbase. This extra space means that passengers in the second row gain 3 inches while those in the back get an extra 10.

Spacious Cargo Area

If you want an SUV with an expansive cargo area, the 2021 Tahoe is a solid choice. It has 25.5 cubic feet of space behind the third row and 72.6 cubic feet of space behind the second. Folding down both these rows gives you a massive 122.9 cubic feet of space. This number surpasses even the long-wheelbase found with the Ford Expedition Max.

You can easily fold the third row flat just by the push of a button, so you no longer need to physically push down the seats. To help you load items into the cargo area, the vehicle comes standard with a hands-free power liftgate.

Impressive Engines

The 2021 Tahoe has three engine options available, all of which give you plenty of power whether you’re driving around town, traveling down the highway, or hauling a trailer. The four lower trims come standard with a 5.3-liter V-8 that produces 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. The top-of-the-line High Country trim has a 6.2-liter V-8 engine that gives you 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. Both engines come paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

With the smaller engine, expect to tow up to 7,600 pounds. When fully equipped with the larger engine, the SUV can tow up to 8,400 pounds.

Upgraded Infotainment System

The Tahoe includes Chevy’s Infotainment 3 Plus system, which is very easy to use. Its standard 10.2-inch touch-screen display sits prominently on the dashboard, making it easy for you to read. If you’d rather use the knobs for climate and audio settings, these are easy to access. The system also has a Wi-Fi hot spot, Bluetooth, six USB ports, satellite and HD radio, as well as wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. Available upgrades include a rear-seat entertainment system with two 12.6-inch touch screens, wireless device charging, and navigation.
