The Chevrolet Corvette was first produced in 1953 and captured the hearts of drivers everywhere with its stunning design and spirited performance.

Celebrating the Chevy: 10 of the Best Years for a Chevrolet Corvette

1953

Back where it all started in 1953, this car stunned the nation with its sublime appearance. It wasn’t especially unique beneath the hood but the fiberglass body was entirely new, offering a strong yet sleek 2-seater sports car that was unlike anything that had been seen before.

1988

The Calloway Sledgehammer was created in 1988 with a lower ride height and a reshaped aerodynamic body that offered clean, sweeping lines.

2019

The 2019 arrived as a real looker. The Grand Sport commanded particular attention with a nod to its racing roots while also showing off a brawnier body and chassis.

1972

The car that marked this year was to be the end of an era, making it something very memorable. The 1972 model was the last of its kind to rock the truly retro styling with chrome bumpers on the front and back, side fender louvers, and an egg-crate grille.

1990

This year was unforgettable because the ZR-1 made its debut. A collaboration with celebrated racing manufacturer Lotus, the 1990 model featured tight angular lines and a subtle flare to the rear of the car.

1984

The C4 that appeared in 1984 is largely credited with breathing new life into the Vette. A curvy clamshell hood stretched out in front of the driver, coupled with chunky 16-inch wheels and a digital instrument display for the interior.

2004

As the C5 was preparing to head over the horizon, there was one last flourish for this model with the spectacular Commemorative Edition. Celebrating its racing success, the car featured Le Mans blue paint, alloy wheels, silver stripes with red edging, and Le Mans emblems on the front and back of the car.

1963

1963 was the year that the innovative Stingray arrived with its distinctive split rear window. No later models featured a split window again, making this Vette a true stand-alone special.

1997

The 1997 C5 was the first Vette that managed to suit both the racetrack and days out touring the countryside. A whole new framework reshaped its basic structure, providing a beautiful balance and a silhouette that was extremely pleasing to the eye.

2014

Inspiration from the very first Stingray was still evident here, but the futuristic curves were closer to the Batmobile than a retro road car in a design that’s simply breathtaking.
