Heavy-Duty Performance: The 2025 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD

Mechanical

The standard engine on the Silverado 2500 is a 6.6L V8 gas engine that’s paired with an Allison 10-speed automatic transmission. With this combo, your truck achieves a whopping 401 horsepower at 5200 rpm and 464 lb.-ft. of torque at 4000 rpm.

If you’re looking for increased towing capacity and enhanced power, there’s an available 6.6L Duramax Turbo-Diesel engine that generates 470 horsepower at 2800 rpm and 975 lb.-ft. of torque at 1600 rpm. This engine offers a maximum towing capacity of 22,070 pounds.

Exterior

The new Silverado has many of the same standard features as the previous model, including the steel Durabed, CornerStep rear bumper, and twelve cargo tie-downs. LED cargo bed lighting comes standard on the ZR2 and High Country trims, while the MultiFlex tailgate is available on all trims. This tailgate has six possible configurations to make loading and unloading cargo easier.

Interior

The Silverado’s front seat is a 40/20/40 split that can seat three people. This seat has a small storage compartment located underneath, creating the perfect space for extra work tools. The rear seat is a 60/40 split that can be folded up on either side to give you more room for cargo items.

Rubberized vinyl floor coverings make cleaning up after a dirty job easy, while the 6-speaker audio system projects music perfectly throughout your Silverado’s cabin. Other notable interior features include power windows, a 3.5-inch driver information center, and a manual tilt steering column.

Technology

The 2025 Silverado 2500 comes with a 7-inch Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system that includes smartphone integration through Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. These connectivity options make it possible to sync your phone to your truck for a more personalized experience, including your contacts, text messages, and playlists. With Bluetooth technology and voice command pass-through, you can use your smartphone hands-free from behind the wheel.

Safety

The Silverado comes with a range of assistive safety features, including Front Pedestrian Braking, Following Distance Indicator, and Lane Departure Warning. This model also has OnStar Basics, which provides built-in voice assistance and Automatic Crash Response in the event of an accident. StabiliTrak electronic stability control, Buckle to Drive, and Teen Driver are just a few of the other innovative safety features in the new Silverado.
