The 2021 Chevy Colorado is a pickup that’s on the smaller side. It’s perfect for people who think the Chevy Silverado 1500 is too large or intimidating. But can it live up to other models feature-wise? We certainly think so.

1. Practical Engine Options

There are two engine options for the Chevy Colorado, and both are excellent. The base model’s engine is a basic four-cylinder operation, with 200 horsepower and the ability to tow 5,500 pounds. This isn’t the most powerful engine on the market and it’s not supposed to be, it’s meant to be a practical pick for a light-duty, small pickup.

If you need something more powerful, then the V6 engine is for you. With a higher 308 horsepower, it can haul 7,000 pounds. If you tend to haul more gear, or you simply prefer a powerful truck, then this should be perfect.

2. Off-Roading Models Available

The Chevy Colorado base model isn’t the best at off-roading, but a quick upgrade can sort that out quickly. There are various models of the Colorado, and the Colorado Z71 is one to pick for off-roading. It has a more heavy-duty suspension than the base model, comes with all-wheel-drive, and has great control when taking on hills.

For superior traction consider the Colorado ZR2, which is even better off-road. You get all the fantastic features of the base model with both of these upgrades, but they’re just that little bit better for taking off the tarmac.

3. Fantastic Sound System

If you love to crank up the music on road trips, then you’ll love the Chevy Colorado’s optional sound system. All models have a top-notch Bose sound system upgrade available. There’s an equalizer built into seven speakers placed strategically around the cabin, for that all-encompassing, blasting sound you’ll love.

The base sound system is nothing to turn away from, either. The standard stereo can work for someone who likes the occasional jam session, but hardcore music fans should really opt for the upgrade in our opinion.

4. The Teen Driver System

These days, the best vehicles have some level of safety built-in. The Chevy Colorado is no different. First of all, there’s an optional safety package that contains more advanced features that will help any driver. But the standard feature that many people love is the Teen Driver system. Parents especially adore it.

The premise behind the Teen Driver system is that it stops teenage drivers from getting too reckless. You can set a speed limit that they can’t go over to ensure safety and law-abidance. But, even better, the truck can send you details about the driver’s habits on the road. You receive them right on your cellphone so you always have a way to track your teenager’s road safety on hand.If you think this is the truck for you, visit us at Jim Turner Chevrolet to snag one for yourself, or at least take it out for a test drive and see if these impressive features have the wow-factor in person.
