Did you know that while there are fewer cars on the road at night, more fatal accidents occur? This is why your headlights are so important. If you think your car needs new headlights, don’t wait. Swing by your Chevy dealership to have them replaced before you are stuck in the dark.

1. Burnt Out

It’s easy to tell you need to replace a halogen bulb because it will burn out. Often, one light will burn out before the other. If you have one headlight out and the other is working, replace both as soon as possible.

2. Dim Lights

LED lights don’t tend to burn out. However, they do tend to grow dim over time. If you have LED lights and notice that the light is dim, it’s time to get them replaced.

There are a number of other causes for dim lights. Your bulb may be on its way out, but it can also signify an electric issue, such as corroded connections or even a damaged ground wire. Take your vehicle to the dealership so the certified technicians can diagnose the issue and get you back on the road.

3. Flickering

If your lights are flickering, get your vehicle to a trusted mechanic ASAP. Flickering lights are a big sign that your headlights are going to cut out completely. Electrical issues, improper power, and defective or worn-out assemblies can cause flickering lights. The technicians at your dealer will be able to diagnose the issue, order the correct parts, and get your lights back into good working order.

4. No High Beams

If your low beams and daytime running lights are functioning well, but your high beams won’t turn on, it’s likely that you have a fuse out or a wiring issue. A professional will need to inspect your headlight assembly and wiring to determine what the issue is. This could be anything from replacing a burnt-out fuse, switching out corroded wiring, or replacing the assembly.

5. Hazy Lights

Over time, your lights can turn yellow and become hazy due to UV rays, salt, and dirt. Your dealership can clean the headlight cover using a special cleanser to help clear them up. Sometimes, cleaning it is impossible, and the headlight needs to be replaced. A professional will be able to tell if cleaning the clover will be sufficient.
