After a lengthy hiatus, the Chevy Trailblazer returns to the market but now in a smaller form. The previous truck-based Trailblazer SUV was available from 2002 through 2009. Now, Chevrolet has decided to resurrect the vehicle as a subcompact SUV. The vehicle has five trims available: L, LS, LT, Activ, and RS. As an all-new model for 2021, the Chevy Trailblazer features a spacious interior, user-friendly technology, and an abundance of standard features.

Comfortable and Roomy Interior

The four-door SUV seats five passengers. The front seats are comfortable and spacious enough for taller riders, while the rear seats can fit three children or two adults easily. The vehicle comes standard with cloth upholstery and manually adjustable front seats. The mid- and upper-level trims add heated front seats, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, and synthetic leather upholstery.

When it comes to interior space, this subcompact SUV also boasts ample room for cargo. With the rear seats upright it has 25.3 cubic feet of space while folding down these seats gives you 54.4 cubic feet of space. These numbers are above-average compared to other vehicles in its class.

Easy-to-Use Technology

The 2021 Chevy Trailblazer comes standard with a 7-inch touch-screen display, but you can upgrade to receive an 8-inch touch-screen display. Both options feature crisp graphics and large icons so you can easily navigate the options. If you prefer knobs and dials to operate the audio and air-conditioning controls, the vehicle includes those as well. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto also come standard so you can easily integrate your apps on the screen. Other standard features include two USB ports, a four-speaker stereo, a Wi-Fi hot spot, and Bluetooth connectivity.

On the upper trims, you can opt for several upgrades including HD radio, satellite radio, wireless device charging, two additional USB ports, and a seven-speaker stereo.

Numerous Standard Safety Features

To keep you and your passengers safe, the 2021 Trailblazer comes standard with the Chevy Safety Assist suite, which includes pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane-keep assist, forward collision detection, and automatic high-beam headlights. You also receive the Teen Driver Technology system, which lets you set audio and speed limits for secondary drivers. The LS and LT trims add an optional Driver Confidence and Cruise package which adds blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors.

Superb Gas Mileage

When it comes to fuel economy, the 2021 Trailblazer has excellent numbers compared to others in its class. The subcompact SUV has two engine options. The standard option is a 137-horsepower 1.2-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine, while the other is a 155-horsepower 1.3-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine. The 1.2-liter engine gets an EPA-estimated 28 miles per gallon (mpg) in the city and 31 mpg on the highway. The larger 1.3-liter engine achieves 29 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway.
