Mother Neff State Park

Mother Neff State Park is a beautiful state park full of outdoor activities you can enjoy with adults and kids alike. Set along the Leon River, this park is one of Texas’ first state parks, and it offers everything from campsites complete with hookup areas to a park store where you can shop for supplies and unique souvenirs. Other activities you can partake in while at the park include picnicking, hiking, and geocaching, all while enjoying nature like the canyon trails and the prairie full of wildflowers. Mother Neff State Park is located at 1921 Park Road 14, Moody, Texas 76557. The park is open every day from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Amsler Park

Amsler Park is located right in McGregor, and it’s one of five parks you can enjoy in the town itself. This park has several fun outdoor activities you can enjoy, including a nine-hole disc golf course, a fishing pond, and a playground. Also, if you visit on a hot day and want to cool down, you and your family can take a dip in the Amsler Park Aquatic Center pool that’s open during the summer months. Amsler Park is located at 412 West 3rd Street, McGregor, Texas 76657.

Cameron Park Zoo

Cameron Park Zoo offers a good time for everyone in the family with its endless activities and immersive attractions. You can take in the gorgeous scenery while meeting and learning about countless animals, which range from Galapagos tortoises to jaguars to elephants. They have several adventures you and your kids can enjoy, such as a cruise through the Brazos River Country and a splash area at Grammy Nell’s playground. You can also visit Lemur Island, an African lion habitat, the Herpetarium, and the white rhinoceros habitat. The zoo is located at 1701 North 4th Street, Waco, Texas 76707, and it’s open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Woodway Park

Woodway Park is a scenic park located a short drive from McGregor, Texas. This city park has several outdoor activities you can choose from, including a disc golf course, barbecue grills for picnicking, and a large playground to keep the kids entertained. You can also fish, canoe, and kayak in the lake and cool off under one of the two pavilions located in the park.
