Are you ready for some Asian food? Asian food can be hot and spicy, fresh and bright, and just plain comforting. McGregor, TX itself doesn’t have any Asian restaurants, but there are a few not far away: and it’s a great opportunity to fire up the Chevy Suburban and take the family for a special treat in comfort.

King Noodle Asian

King Noodle is at 2912 S 31st in Temple (in the Market Place Shopping Center). They are open from 11am daily and close at 9:30pm on most weeknights, at 10pm on Friday and Saturday, and at 9am on Sunday. This is a small place, but everything they serve is fantastic and will keep you wanting to come back.

Try their pork buns and the delicious spicy noodle soup. They make the noodles fresh from scratch, and they are delicious. They also do a great roasted pork rib noodle soup, which comes with bok choy, cilantro, green onion, and a tea egg. The hibachi shrimp is also really good, and the orange chicken with rice is definitely worth ordering if you’re a fan of the sweet and sour flavors.

China Cafe

This place has a delicious buffet with quality food and fresh flavors, and they also have a delicious sushi bar. They’re located at 215 Sparta Rd in Belton, and they’re open from 10:30am until 9:30pm every day. The prices here are really good, and the service is fast.

Great appetizers include their fried sugar biscuit and the teriyaki chicken sticks. The spring rolls are also good, and you should definitely try their sesame balls if you’ve never had those. The vegetable egg foo young is delectable, and the beef with snow peas is a special treat. Check out their family portion combo specials, their triple portion combo specials, and their kid’s menu, too, if you want to take the whole family.

The Blasian Asian

Head north instead of south to visit this great food truck that parks at 720 Franklin Ave in Waco. The Blasian Asian is at the Union Hall, and if you’re headed that way anyway, be sure to stop here and try them out. They are open from 11am until 9pm every day during the week and until 10pm on Friday and Saturdays. You can also order online so the food is ready when you get there.

This truck is owned by Chavrat and Mike DuBose. Chavrat is from Cambodia and brings the amazing flavor profiles of her past to our area. Try the beef jakak, which is beef skewers marinated in lemongrass and barbecued the traditional Cambodian way. We also love the nompang sach chrouk sandwich, which is lemongrass-marinated grilled pork with carrots, cilantro, cucumbers, and jalapenos served up on garlic-toasted ciabatta.

We may not have Asian spots right in town, but we sure can access great Asian food if we need to, with the right vehicle. To find that right vehicle, or to get service on yours to keep it running right, see us at Jim Turner Chevrolet today.
