No matter if you live in the Lone Star state, or are just visiting, there are always things to do and see there. McGregor, TX has some of the best attractions and places. It is no wonder we love so many things about this town.

1. Blue Hills Ranch

While in Texas, you can go on a safari at Blue Hills Ranch. This resort, located at 2032 Blue Cut Road, has 150 acres to explore. Your safari will take place with just those in your group, so the safety of the animals can be preserved. The safari is for all ages and costs $60 per person.

Animals seen during the excursion include mini donkeys, bison, giraffes, camels, zebras, mini pigs, emus, kangaroos, and much more. You will be able to be up close and personal with one animal of your choice and can take pictures if desired. You may also bottle-feed a giraffe at a specific time for a fee. You can rent cabins that have animal fees, such as the Giraffe Cabin or the Zebra Cabin. There is also an RV camping section situated near four ponds.

2. Cedar Chest Antique Mall

If you have a passion for antiques and shopping, the Cedar Chest Antique Mall is the place to be. Located at 31707 West Highway 84, the mall has china, glassware, pottery, antique furniture, apparel, and so much more. Hours are Monday to Saturday from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM and Sundays from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

The antique mall is not the only thing located here. There are 35 booths at the outdoor market that is on-site.

3. Spradley Telephone Museum

If you are a history buff, you will want to take a chance at the Spradley Telephone Museum. Located at 921 West 3rd Street, the museum is run by a local man. Events are held at the museum, and education is promoted there.

Here you will find various telephones throughout the years and it will show how much they have evolved. Its claim to fame is the phone used in the major motion picture, Raggedy Man. It was used by actress Sissy Spacek.

4. Amsler Park

Outdoors has never been any more fun than it is at  Amsler Park. Open from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM every day, this park is located on 84W. It features a 9 hole disc golf course, golf courses, and an aquatic park. Here you will find walking trails, soccer fields, basketball courts, and playgrounds. Trout stocking also takes place here at pre-scheduled times.

After a day of playing at the 32-acre park, use one of the pavilions for a picnic with the family. There are also spots for camping with complete RV hookups and large patios so you can relax after a fun-filled day.

There is so much to love about this town. From taking a safari to antique shopping, there is something for everyone to do. After you have had your fill of fun, be sure to stop at Jim Turner Chevrolet to see what we can do for you.
